Run to the beat of your
feet not your heart
Listening to the sound of your feet hitting the ground when running is a far safer way to exercise than keeping going until you're out of breath.
Physiotherapist Ellis Taylor says people running with headphones are more likely to injure themselves because they miss the vital sound of when to stop and take a rest.
“For the first few runs" he says, "don’t run with headphones blaring in your ears but listen to your feet instead. They should be quiet and soft.
"As soon as they start to get loud and ‘slap’ the pavement that’s when you need to stop and walk to avoid damaging knees and legs”.

The bets are on AVB
to be the first to go
Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas is odds on favourite with Corals to be out of his job before the start of next season.
But Arsene Wenger, despite last week’s 4–0 defeat by AC Milan, appears a better bet to stay in charge at Arsenal.
Latest betting on which Premiership managers will be the first to leave:
8-11 Andre Villas-Boas (Chelsea)
4-1 Kenny Dalglish (Liverpool) & Roberto Mancini (Manchester City)
10-1 Arsene Wenger (Arsenal)
12-1 Sir Alex Ferguson (Manchester Utd).

Yoga CAN be
good for you
A leading UK yoga teacher is challenging recent claims in New York that yoga can 'wreck your body'.
Nahid de Belgeonne, who runs two yoga studios in London, says yoga is perfectly safe when practiced properly and if people understand how their body works.
She says anyone going to yoga classes should take time building up to the more strenuous poses and not compete with their 'mat neighbours'.
"Regular yoga practice keeps you in tune with your body and mind" she says. "Work with your body rather than against it. Yoga is a long term sustainable practice that evolves with you over the years. “

Plucking up the courage
to leave your partner
A new book by behaviour expert Beverley Stone aims to help thousands of people made miserable and ill from being trapped in unhappy relationships.
‘Stay or Leave’ analyses the problem from every angle, explaining why unresolved situations leave those involved mentally exhausted, emotionally drained and physically ill.
It shows exactly what happens when people remain indecisive. And confronts them with the deepest fear in the human psyche – the terror of living a wasted life.
'Stay or Leave' goes further than other self-help books with detailed analysis of efforts to solve the problem –and why all previous attempts at finding a solution have failed.

How business can beat
energy contract bullies
A NEW guide has been launched to help firms combat unfair pricing tactics employed by utility companies.
Its been produced by the Energy Advice Line to tackle utility companies who try and lock firms into excessively-priced energy contracts.
Energy Advice Line MD Julian Morgan says the spotlight on rocketing energy costs has focussed on household bills - but overlooked the plight of UK businesses.
“The dilemma facing businesses is dire as energy prices rise and utility companies continue to employ unfair tactics to prevent firms switching to cheaper deals,” he says.
“Our guide sets out clearly and simply what to do and what not to do, so that businesses can stay in control.”
